There are a number of conserved sequences in various regions throughout the16s rRNA gene. Use of primers designed to these areas allows amplification of short segments, or the complete gene. Sequencing of these amplicons provides useful information for identifying the bacteria present in sample. If you have amplified your target regions of the 16S rRNA gene, either using your own primer designs or with any of the third-party kits available for preparing your 16S sample, you can submit these purified amplicons along with your template-specific primers for sequencing.
